granting ceremony 2022 edition

15 Feb, 2023 / 18:30 - 21:00

film evening for the winner's announcement at the phenomena experience cinema in barcelona

The fourth edition of the Living Places – Simon Architecture Prize (2022) will culminate this coming Wednesday February 15th with a film evening, thus recovering the format of a ceremony with an audience and closing a successful edition.

The now legendary Phenomena Experience cinema in Barcelona will host a full-screen viewing of the five finalists in each category -Collective Places and Personal Places- which were announced last December. We talk about Chapel Ingá Mirim (Brazil), Health Center Cap Cotet (Spain), Khitara Music Public Kiosk (Mexico), Melopee School (Belgium) and Pilares Presidentes de México (Mexico) in the Collective Places category, while the finalists in Personal Places category are 8 Protected Public Dwellings in Palma (Spain), House in Dumbrava Vlasiei (Romania), Petralona House (Greece), Rain Harvest Home (Mexico) and Rambla-Climate House (Spain).

Afterwards, the members of the jury, chaired by the Paris-based Brazilian architect Carla Juaçaba, will finally announce the winners in both categories. The winning teams will be able to share their experience and point of view, and will be presented with the emblematic trophy, designed by Andreu Carulla. In addition, this year’s edition also includes a recognition of the audiovisual narrative, which will highlight one of the 186 videos submitted in this edition.

Additionally, in the Phenomena hall, a retrospective exhibition of the forty finalists, winners and special mentions of these four editions of the Prize will be on display to review the great examples of architecture that have stood out in each edition.

We look forward to seeing you all at the fourth Living Places – Simon Architecture Prize Granting Ceremony on 15 February at Phenomena Experience in Barcelona!
