A Tailor-Made Office for Arquitectura Invisible
A few years ago, Arquitectura Invisible took the leap and finally embarked on the adventure of moving their office, previously located on the first floor of a building in central Madrid, to a place that was more in line with their principles and aspirations: a half-ruined little house on a plot of land with a countryside taste.
Before moving in, and putting their usual working method into practice, they listened carefully to the needs of the place, and by laying everyone's needs on the table, they proposed a symbiotic project where architecture, people, and the much-desired nature would mutually benefit.
This “invisible” team was so eager to be invisible to the city, that they didn’t wait for the office to be built before moving in. Instead, they began working from the construction shed, from where they directed the progress of what would eventually become their long-awaited office: one that would light up with the sunrise and close with the sunset; one surrounded by nature and covered by the sky.

Invisible Office, A Very Special Construction Shed
The recycled construction shed was installed on the plot, overcoming the slope from the street and remaining partially buried, which helped achieve a more stable temperature, further enhanced by a green roof.
Next to the shed, the team built, with their own hands, a greenhouse using wooden beams and pillars salvaged from the ruined house. As a covering, a polycarbonate skin was used, over which a vine was grown, providing shade in the summer, letting in light during the winter, and offering the team delicious grapes in September. Both the yellow door and the oak door were reclaimed from a demolished building.
Inside, plywood provided a pleasant environment. The lighting and furniture were brought from the old office. In short, a customized shed, mostly made with recycled and/or natural materials, like the baked clay flooring, which allows the ground to breathe.
The office is heated by a wood-burning stove fueled by biomass from tree prunings around the plot, and in the summer, a fan combined with misting water cools the space by increasing humidity and reducing temperature.
Lastly, the perimeter vegetation was carefully chosen to be deciduous, so that a nectarine tree, a cypress, and some vines help regulate the climate of this workspace for a team that went crazy for being surrounded by nature.
