general aspects

Quality of life, character, and identity are reflected within a low-density metropolitan environment with detailed care for public spaces and green areas. A three-level dwelling designed to be inhabited from the outside in blossoms out of all the others.
This house, with its exposed pigmented concrete walls, opens itself to the world to see. Celebrating the beauty of imperfection and the construction done on-site, the abilities of Mexican workers are enhanced. Its floors, made of volcanic stones like pórfido rojo (red porphyryl) from Jalisco recinto (basalt) from Colima, create a natural atmosphere within the modernity of a constructed space.
The fixed furniture made of solid natural wood adds structural rigidity, even as slender elements. At the same time, the thin-profiled metal-framed windows offer unobstructed views of the exterior and the surrounding atmosphere. In the garden, all the washed surface white concrete stepping stones were custom-made on-site using molds crafted by local blacksmiths.
The waffle slab ceiling at the parking garage creates a dynamic interplay of heights, inviting for contemplation. Here the walls do not confine, they nurture. The organic flow of the spaces allows one to shed the layers of the outside world, offering freedom and serenity. This house enhances the rawness of materials and the relationship of architecture to other living elements.

about the category

A personal place is a refuge, a sanctuary. A space where one can fully embrace their true self. There’s no need to pretend, to eager for what we are not. We intended to craft a dwelling for personal reflection and self-discovery. The curved concrete walls subtly envelop the inhabitant, guiding movement through spaces that feel alive and dynamic. The gardens and planters, teeming with vegetation, establish a living dialogue between the architecture and the earth, grounding the spirit while elevating the experience of dwelling.
