winners and finalists of the Living Places – Simon Architecture Prize 2020 had already received the trophies

We are happy to announce that the winners and finalists of the Living Places – Simon Architecture Prize 2020 had already received the trophies designed by Andreu Carulla.

 

On February 18th 2021 the authors of the winning works Can Sau. Emergency Scenery (Collective Places) and Casa Ter (Personal Places) attended the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion to be given the trophies. Guillem Moliner and Eduard Callís attended as founding members of unparelld’arquitectes team. Benjamin Iborra went in representation of MESURA office together with filmmaker Ricard López, author of the awarded film.

On April it started the trip to hand the trophies over to the authors of the finalist projects. The first stop was in Madrid with studio NOMOS, authors of the awarded project La Nave, finalist in the Personal Places category.

 

The second stop was the city of Barcelona where the studios of Lacol and Cierto Estudio are located. Part of the team of Lacol received the trophy in their studio for the finalist project La Borda (Collective Places category).

 

 

Cierto Estudio, as the authors of Casa Cruce (Personal Places category), opened the doors of their office to welcome the representatives of Simon.

 

 

 

On May, the trip continued to visit the office of BAAS Arquitectura that, together with Grupa 5 Architekci and Małeccy Biuro Projektowe, was finalist in the Collective Places category with the work Department of Radio and Television University of Silesia located in Poland.

 

 

 

 

After these series of visits, the trophies left Europe to get Mexico. Monterrey was the first stop to hand the trophy over to W.E.Y.E.S Estudio as authors of House in the Woods (Personal Places category).

 

 

 

The second visit was to Guadalajara, where the representatives of Simon in Mexico meet MO+G Taller de Arquitectura in their studio. They are the authors of A Place To Perceive, finalist in the Personal Places category.

 

 

 

 

The trip ended in Mexico City the first week of June. Estudio MMX, the authors of Jojutla Central Gardens (Collective Places category), received the trophy in their studio.

 

 

 

 

Finally, CCA Centro de Colaboración Arquitectónica was the last studio to be visited to hand the award over for its Boys and Girls Club, finalist in the Collective Places category.
