Thursday, 21 June at 19 pm take place the kick-off of the fourth edition of Living Places – Simon Architecture Prize.
The “Arquitecturas Vividas” event will take place at the Mies van der Rohe Pavilion as a presentation of this fourth edition, in the form of a conversation between Carla Juaçaba (architect and president of the 2022 jury) and Ángela García de Paredes (architect at Paredes Pedrosa and 2016 finalist).
Carla Juaçaba is one of the most internationally recognized emerging architects, recipient of the Architectural Review Emerging Architecture Award 2018 and author of one of the 10 Vatican Chapels built for the 2018 Venice Architecture Biennale among the likes of Norman Foster and Eduardo Souto de Moura.
Ángela García de Paredes is a founding architect of the Madrid-based studio Paredes Pedrosa, an office with an extensive and consolidated career recognized with the Gold Medal for Merit in Fine Arts 2014, Spanish Architecture Award 2007 or the AADIPA European Award for Architectural Heritage Intervention 2015. Its Ceuta Public Library was a finalist in the first edition of the Living Places – Simon Architecture Prize in 2016.
With this event, also broadcast by streaming on Simon’s Youtube channel and with the live participation of architects and communication experts from Spain, Brazil and Mexico, Living Places establishes itself as a meeting point for prestigious international voices in the world of design and architecture, creating transversalities and widening the trajectory of this competition.
